Ingredients
For the Danish
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
- 1 1/2 cups of warm milk
- Two eggs
- 4 tablespoons of butter
For the Filling
- 1 block room temp. cream cheese
- 2 c powered sugar
- 1/4 c cream
- Vanilla
- 1 egg for egg wash
- Top with blueberries
For the Crumble
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 c flour
- Cinnamon
- Cayenne
- 8tbsp melted butter
Directions
- Start by adding milk and butter to a medium sauce, pan and heat up on the stove until it reached a temperature of 110.
- Add sugar, flour, salt, yeast, vanilla, eggs to a mixer and add your butter & milk mixer.
- Mix until dough comes together, maybe 3 or 4 minutes.
- Cover and let rest for 1 hour
- Add cream cheese, cream, vanilla, powdered sugar to a bowl and mix together well then sit aside.
- In another bowl add flour, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, cayenne and vanilla, mix well.
- Once your dough has doubled in size, add a little flour to a work surface. Knead dough for a few minutes and form a ball.
- Now cut into 8 equal pieces.
- add a sheet of parchment paper to a baking pan.
- Start forming a doughnut like shape without punch, punching the hole completely through the middle. Almost like making a little pocket.
- Now place on your baking pan and repeat until all pieces are done.
- Add your egg wash to the outside of the danish.
- Add a dollop of cream cheese inside of the hole in each.
- Add blueberries on top of cream cheese mixture then top with your crumble.
- Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
- Enjoy
