Breakfast Rolls
Well, it's no secret that I've been binge watching The Great British Baking Show and it's been so inspiring. Especially over the Chelsea Bun episode! I watched that entire episode practically drooling and had to take a gander at these delicious buns myself. These large, buttery, hardy, cheesy and savory rolls have emerged and we had to hold back from eating the entire skillet.

Who else watches The Great British Baking Show? I know we sure do and are addicted. We get about 3 episodes deep before bed and don't want to turn it off. I actually get very sad when James turns off the T.V. and says "that's enough Hannah". But I secretly try to sneak in an episode or two during the day while I'm taking a break from cooking and being my sexy self.

Did you know the Chelsea Bun originated in the 18th century at a bakery in the Chelsea area of West London called The Chelsea House? The buns were a favorite of the British royal family, including George II, George III, and Queen Charlotte. Isn't that cool?
Now I have to jump on a plane, head over the ocean to grab me one from London. Who wants to go with me?
The original Chelsea Buns are made from a rich yeast dough that's flavored with lemon peel, cinnamon, or mixed spice. The dough is rolled out, spread with a mixture of currants, brown sugar, and butter, and then formed into a square-sided log. After baking, the buns are brushed with a cold water sugar syrup while still hot. The buns are left to cool on a wire rack.

Now remember, I made mine a little different but still used a rich yeasted dough flavored with garlic, onion and herbs. Rolled out and spread with a savory mixture including mushrooms, spinach and cream cheese. They are so delicious.
Now, these Breakfast Rolls are a little different from the classic cinnamon rolls but the same in a way. Cinnamon rolls usually have a sweet filling, and glazed with cream cheese icing but these Breakfast Rolls are savory and topped with a buttery finish.
Are y'all ready for me to hush so y'all can start baking? I knew it! Ok bakers, LET'S BAKE!

Directions
- Start by adding one pound of bacon to a cast iron skillet and frying on medium heat.
- While the bacon is going, add one cup of warm water to a mason jar with yeast and sugar.
- Mix up really well and sit aside for 10 minutes.
- While you're waiting for the yeast to rise, add butter, sugar, eggs, all your seasonings and flour to your mixer.
- Once your yeast is ready, add it to the mixer and mix until dough starts to come together. usually 2 to 3 minutes.
- Cover and let dough rest for 1 hour.
- Remove bacon from skillet and add onion and garlic. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Now add mushrooms and spinach to the skillet with the onion and garlic. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- In your mixer, add cream cheese, bacon and veggies and mix until everything is good and combine.
- Once the dough has risen, throw you a little flour down to a work surface and start rolling it out into about a ½ thick oval shape.
- Add that cream cheese mixture to your dough and start spreading it out.
- Now start rolling it into a log shape.
- Take a knife and cut the end pieces off. Then cut into 2 inch thick rolls.
