Let's have pizza for breakfast!

Ingredients
Crust
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ tablespoon buttermilk powder optional
- 4 tablespoon unsalted butter room temperature
- ½ cup cold water
Pizza Filling
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- ½ large white onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 large eggs
- ⅓ cup whole milk for eggs
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- ½-1 cup whole milk amount depends on thick you prefer your gravy. Use less milk for thicker results.
- 1-2 cups shredded mixed blend cheese I used cheddar and pepperjack, but you can use your preferred choice!
Directions
Crust
Grab your large mixing bowl and combine crust ingredients, except for water. Gently massage the butter into the flour with you hands. Then add cold water and continue massaging until you get a dough consistency. Cover your bowl with aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator to chill. Get started on your pizza filling.
Pizza Filling
Grab one of your stovetop pans and grease lightly. Turn on stove to medium-heat. Add in your ground sausage and sprinkle with garlic powder and onion powder. Using your spatula, mixing the meat around so it starts to evenly brown.
When the meat is about half way browned, add in your chopped onion and garlic.
Mix into your meat and continue cooking on medium-low heat until meat is cooked through. When finished, turn heat to low and transfer cooked meat into a small mixing bowl. Set aside and let cool.
When pan is cleared of meat, reuse for your gravy. Not only is it fewer dishes for you, but it adds a nice savory taste to your gravy when cooked. Add your 2 tbsps of butter and melt on stove on low heat.
When butter is completely melted, add in your flour and milk and stir together with spatula. Leave on stove on medium-low heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes so your gravy thickens.
Grab another small mixing bowl and, using a fork, whisk together your eggs and milk. Grab your second stovetop pan and slightly grease before pouring in your eggs. Turn stove on medium-low heat and cook eggs through and scramble, using your spatula to shift them around and cook evenly. Should only take a few minutes.
When gravy and eggs are done cooking, turn off stove and let them sit until need for pie layers. Start baking crust (see below).
Making The Pizza Pie
Grab your Cast Iron Skillet Pan and grease it so your crust doesn't stick to the bottom of your pan.
Grab your crust dough from the fridge. Gently flour a flat surface and using your rolling pin, roll out the dough into a flat sheet. It doesn't have to perfectly be the shape of your cast iron skillet.
Place rolled out dough into your cast-iron and fold in sides if they over flow the sides of your skillet. Press the dough down into the skillet, making sure there are no holes in the dough. Place in oven for 15 minutes.
After the crust is baked, remove and let cool slightly. Be sure your sausage, gravy, and eggs are nearby.
Cover the crust in your gravy (I just used my fork to brush the surface of the crust). Then add your meat layer. Using your spatula, transfer the ground sausage into the pie crust and spread evenly.
Then cover your meat with your scrambled eggs and disperse evenly. I used the same spatula to add in my eggs.
Lastly, grab your shredded cheese and spread across the top of the pie so your eggs and sausage and covered in cheese. If you need to use more or less cheese, do what makes ya happy!
Put your breakfast pizza pie in the oven for 10 minutes. Once cooked, remove and let cool slightly before cutting and serving.
